artist bio
I am an artist residing in sunny Southern California. My artwork is Contemporary, and I paint using acrylic or watercolor paints. For several decades I lived and travelled throughout the Caribbean, Southern Italy & many North American coastal cities, which heavily influences my lively color palette.
Much of my art is in the Abstract Impressionistic style. The compositions and themes are cheerful, vibrant and emote a sense of ease and luxury. I regularly paint abstracts, landscapes, seascapes & marshes, still life and nature florals.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in design and interior architecture from Virginia Commonwealth University, I practiced commercial design and architecture for over thirty years.
I also taught interior design & architectural drafting to Community College students. I taught fine art and watercolor classes to both adults and children. I have written articles on interior design for several publications. And have written for the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts website, Artsedge, which integrates fine arts into standard curriculum lessons to children K-12. After departing the business world I now happily paint full time.
